COFFINS: Full Album Streaming At Terrorizer, The Fleshland To See Release Next Week
The Fleshland -- the monstrous fourth LP from Tokyo’s death/doom merchants COFFINS -- is now streaming in its entirety to spread the filth on its’ pending street date, now just a week away. As one of the most anticipated releases of the genre, the plodding massacre of the album has been oozing praise from international media outlets, the band’s tried and true delivery at its most solid and pulverizing yet.
Take a gory journey through The Fleshland via Terrorizer RIGHT HERE.
COFFINS continue to steadily tour throughout Japan and will take off all over Europe during the Summer months with festival appearances including Brutal Assault, Party San Metal Open Air, Leperfest and more confirmed. New tours will be confirmed and announced in the coming days and throughout 2013 supporting The Fleshland.
The Fleshland is the first proper studio album from COFFINS since their commended Buried Death album, released by 20 Buck Spin in 2008, and first official album for Relapse Records. Recorded at Tokyo’s Noise Room Studio with engineer Shigenori Kobayashi, and produced by Bungo Uchino and the rest of COFFINS, The Fleshland shows the revamped and expanded band lineup smashing down everything in their path, having uppedfrom a trio to a quartet with a new drummer and full-time vocalist since Buried Death. Nine grisly numbers thunder with the unbeatable mid-paced COFFINS stomp, laying down over forty-five minutes of bruising low-end sludge-infiltrated, plodding doom with possibly the best production values in the band’s meaty catalog of carnage. Relapse will release The Fleshland via CD, download and mammoth 2xLP, including a deluxe black and white artwork edition available only via Relapse mailorder. Preorder packages are available HERE.

"The nine tracks on The Fleshland have a knack of crawling their collective carcass toward listeners to smear faces with their pus, making the whole thing quite fascinating..." - Terrorizer
"Tokyo's Coffins have been at it steadily for nearly two decades, never bringing the tempos above a deathly lurch and unironically keeping it sick/staying brutal." - Decibel
“...Japanese death metal yakuza Coffins have carved out a long and fruitful career by out-Autopsying Autopsy.” - Pitchfork
"They’re meat and potatoes death/doom, except probably without the potatoes. That being said, their absolutely-no-frills approach is essential to what’s best about them: most Coffins songs are among the finest death/doom you’ll ever hear with nary more than the basics of the genre necessary." - MetalSucks
"...The Fleshland will wash over you like the black plague... Coffins strength lies in their ability to meld death and doom metal into one ugly sonofabitch..." - Dead Rhetoric
