Wolvserpent

Boise, Idaho’s mysterious occult duo WOLVSERPENT formed in 2009 and consist of Blake Green (guitar, vocals, keys) and Brittany McConnell (drums, percussion, violin). The duo play a masterful mix of apocalyptic doom, avant-orchestral drone and blackened, sepulchral ambience. 2010 saw the release of their debut full-length Blood Seed which was met with immense critical acclaim and quickly sold out of its limited edition pressings. In 2012 the band signed to renowned indie label Relapse Records and will record their sophomore full-length entitled PERIGAEA, a four song 80 minute opus, this November with producer/engineer Mell Dettmer (SUNN 0))), BORIS, ASVA, EARTH) in Seattle and in Idaho at their home studio.

After a two year writing period, WOLVSERPENT first recorded the PERIGAEA 2012 demo (pronounced "pear-a-guy-a") in Dec '11-January 2012. Choosing initially not to release it....but to hold onto it for another 9 months and re-write it, they are now offering it as a free download via their official bandcamp page (www.wolvserpent.bandcamp.com). The Full length version of PERIGAEA is an entirely different beast, having been released in September 2013, WOLVSERPENT are a duo as utterly absorbing as they are mysterious.

This haunting elegy of maudlin strings and crushing doom is sublime in its beauty, weeping that the end of the world is coming.” -The Wire

“Wolvserpent are masters of their craft….allowing this record into your heart is the kind of darkness that heals.”- Cvlt Nation

“Wolvserpent invokes a behemoth, two-headed spirit of desolate atmospherics and doom-fueled thunder to be sent lurching and sprawling through the listener’s consciousness.” -Forbidden Magazine

“A bastardized mix of Godspeed like post rock, avant drone drift, funeral doom, and glacial black metal buzz.” -Aquarius Records
