GRUESOME, Florida's modern purveyors of old-school death metal, have entered the studio to begin working on a new EP titled Dimensions of Horror<. The band will be recording the new material at New Constellation RMP Studios with engineer Jarrett Pritchard in Orlando, FL. The album will once again feature artwork from the legendary Ed Repka (Death, Megadeth) and will see a release via Relapse in 2016.
Death-saluting metal collective, GRUESOME, will take to the streets next month on a short run of live performances. Following an appearance at Obscene Extreme America Fest in Montreal next month, the band -- which features guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey (Exhumed), drummer Gus Rios (Malevolent Creation), guitarist Daniel Gonzalez (Possessed) and bassist Robin Mazen (Derketa) --will kick off a mini tour in September, waging their classic Schuldiner-styled odes upon the ears of Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Cave-In-Rock, San Diego and Los Angeles. See confirmed dates below.
GRUESOME's debut 'Savage Land' is an intentional homage to the first wave death metal scene of Tampa, Florida, specifically Death's early period. GRUESOME is much more than a tribute band though. Led by Matt Harvey (of Exhumed, Matt was the vocalist and guitarist on the original Death To All tour) and rounded out by a band comprised of members of Possessed, Malevolent Creation and Derketa, GRUESOME sound like they were plucked right out of 1988. This is an absolutely top notch filthy slab of old school death metal, played by the some of the scene's most legit players. Learn More
