MTV Canada / BLEEDING THROUGH Tour Wrap-Up; Extend Summer Touring

THE END performed live as featured guests on MTV Canada's MTV Live?yesterday, June 7. THE END performed three songs from their brand new album Elementary and talked briefly about the record. Canadian residents can access the band's live performance and interview footage at www.MTV.ca under the MTV Live?performances.

THE END vocalist Aaron Wolff comments on the experience: It took 32 hours of driving from Winnipeg to Toronto. Along the way we fell victim to border harassment both in the U.S. and in Canada, had 2 blown tires, about 400 cups of coffee and 60 cans of red bull, but we made it to MTV exactly at 11:30 am for our load in. It was a crazy day for us; we had load in and sound check at MTV studios from 11:30 till 2 then load in at the Opera House for our night show at 3. We loaded in then ran back over to MTV to get ready for our t.v. performance and interview at 6:00, which was a great experience. We finished up at MTV then loaded our stuff into our trailer and booked it back to the Opera House for our set at 8:30pm. Somehow we managed to pull it all off. A HUGE thanks goes out to all of you that came to both of our shows. We had an incredible time so thanks for making the effort to support us.?

THE END wrapped up a cross-Canadian tour with BLEEDING THROUGH and CANCER BATS at the Opera House show. As for what's next for the band, Wolff says: We now have a week and a bit off then will be back out all over Canada, with some great bands; Threat Signal, From Autumn to Ashes, I Hate Sally, Sick City, and It Dies Today. And then hit the U.S. with Between the Buried and Me, The Red Chord, and Cephalic Carnage. So keep you eyes peeled we may be rolling through your town soon."

THE END Unveil More Album Details; Make First Preview Track Available

Canadian quintet THE END has released more details, as well as the first track from their long-awaited new full-length album Elementary.

Elementary, which marks an enormous step forward in creative growth and songwriting for the band, was recorded throughout the summer at BWC Studios in Brampton, Ontario with engineer and longtime friend Greg Dawson. The finished track listing for Elementary is as follows; Dangerous? The Never Ever Aftermath? Animals? The Moth and I? Throwing Stones? "My Abyss", "Awake?", "A Fell Wind", "In Distress", and "And Always...". We have been hiding in obscurity for the last year writing and recording this album and we're all about ready to explode.?guitarist Andrew Hercules illuminates; Hopefully that doesn't actually happen or else we'd have a big gory mess to clean out of the van. Simply put I think this will be one of those records you fall madly in love with or decree it to be the bane of your existence, but you won't forget it.?

Elementary's album art, designed by U.K. artist Colin Marks, can be viewed at this location: http://relapse.com/preview/elementary.jpg. Hercules (the band is rounded out by vocalist Aaron Wolff, guitarist Steve Watson, bassist Sean Dooley and drummer Anthony Salajko) comments on the connection between art and title: The artwork is all generated from the ideas and imagery in the songs themselves. The cover is symbolic of the perils of idolatry, which is a reoccurring theme throughout the record. The album being titled Elementary is complimented by the simplicity of the images. Which is usually one image comprised of two different interacting forces striving to achieve balance. Why? Because that's the way things are. Basic. Elegant.?

An advance preview track taken from Elementary, "Animals", is available now via the band's official MySpace page, www.MySpace.com/TheEndMusic, and PureVolume page, www.PureVolume.com/TheEndOnt. Elementary is set for a February 6, 2007 North American release date (February 12 internationally).

THE END Complete Work On New Album

Canadian quintet THE END has completed work on their new full-length album.

This as-yet-untitled release was recorded at BWC Studios in Brampton, Ontario with producer Greg Dawson. THE END vocalist Aaron Wolff (the band is rounded out by guitarists Steve Watson and Andrew Hercules, bassist Sean Dooley and drummer Anthony Salajko) describes the record: This is definitely a huge step for us in so many different ways. We tried a lot of new things that we have stayed far away from in the past, and also expanded on the ground that we have laid out in the past. Greg has been a close friend of the band since we started out so it was really easy for us to be able to express our thoughts to him and then work to make them reality.?

We are so happy with the sound of the record and totally excited about the new songs.?Wolff continues; We've spent the last year putting them together, and there is now physical proof of what we've been devoting our lives to. We knew what we wanted to do, and how we wanted to do it. And because we were able to explore new ideas, and work things out in the studio, we were able to do the songs justice this time.?

Post-production will commence this fall with a February 2007 release date expected.

THE END Commence Recording New Album

Canadian quintet THE END has begun recording their new full-length album.

This as-of-yet-untitled release is being recorded at B.W.C. Studios in Brampton, Ontario with producer Greg Dawson. THE END vocalist Aaron Wolff (the band is rounded out by guitarists Steve Watson and Andrew Hercules, bassist Sean Dooley and drummer Anthony Salajko) describes the writing process: There was a very conscience effort to create the album that people won't be able to predict, and won't get tired of. It's a record for metal heads, it's a record for hardcore kids, it's a record for rock n' rollers. We're really focusing on exploring things that are very human, basic human emotions...The things that people try to hide and cover up but are still there no matter what is done to forget about it.....the kind anyone can relate to.?

We also felt the need to do things that are were out of the ordinary for ourselves as song writers, to keep things new and exciting and to make moves in directions we've never explored.?Wolff continues; The result, is an extremely diverse record. Right from the first word we are pulling the listener inside the record. We truly feel that there is something in this record for anyone, as long as they are willing to let themselves forget about everything around them and focus on where the sound takes them. We are extremely happy with the progress we have made thus far.?

The recording of the new album will wrap at summer's end and will be released in early 2007. Learn More
