The new record, entitled Deep Cuts from Dark Clouds was recorded with the band’s friend and longtime engineer Jeff Forrest at Double Time Studios in San Diego, CA. Los Angeles misanthropes 16 have entered Double Time Studios in San Diego, California to begin recording their next Relapse Records full-length.

Guitarist Bobby Ferry comments: "We're very happy to finally begin recording our new album with our longtime (and favorite) engineer Jeff Forrest at Double Time Studios. This is the first recording that will feature our new drummer Mateo Pinkerton. A lot of bands like to promote their new record by describing it as 'the best songs we've ever done.'
